Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 106 === Many publicly traded companies provide a dividend feature and a stock split feature to their stock. The announcement of paying dividend or stock split can often affect the stock price movement. Taiwan stock market is renowned for high dividend yielding stocks. In this study, we investigate the short-term investment strategies for the period of time near the ex-dividend date. Our experimental results show that neither buying and selling before the ex-dividend date nor buying before and selling after the ex-dividend date yield high return, and only buying and selling after the ex-dividend date produces the best results. Furthermore, a more strict investment strategy that invests on fewer stocks often yields a higher return.
