The Effect of Group Diversity, Emergent Leadership, and Shared Leadership on Team Performance: An Example of the Multi-stage Innovation and Creation Competition

碩士 === 元智大學 === 經營管理碩士班(國際企業學程) === 106 === In recent years, more companies prefer to use student competition to receive innovative ideas or proposals for solving problems. Through the multi-stage competition, and screening training process, the program proposed by the student team is more feasible. The component and operation of the team members are more important for the different tasks of the competition. Thus, this study focuses on multi-stage innovation and creation competitions to explore the effect of group diversity, emergent leadership, shared leadership on team performance of student teams. This study used survey to collect data, and the final effective questionnaire was 62, and the team number was 23. The data was analyzed by PLS method. The results show that, from a team and individual perspective, group diversity has a significant impact on shared leadership; the impact of emergent leadership on shared leadership has not significant effect at the team level, but has significant effect at the individual level. The influence of the shared leadership on the team performance only has a significant impact on team members’ team and individual level. This study furnishes some information for the enterprise to design and plan competition.
