Materials and Methods: Totally 403 patients of 1443 patients with endometrial cancer had been treated by radiotherapy at National Taiwan University Hospital between 1979 and 2009 were investigated in this retrospective study. All patients were classified according to the criteria of the FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) classification 2009. Overall survival rate of the endometrial cancer were generated by using the Kaplan-Meier method. Clinical and pathological data was evaluated to correlate with clinical outcome. Results: The mean age at disease onset was 55 years (range 24-86 years). There were 104 patients (25.8%) with clinical stage I, 62 patients (15.4%) with clinical stage II, and 213 patients (52.9%) with clinical stage III. Only 24 patients (6%) were at the advance stage IV. The mean length of follow-up was 53 months (range 3 to 288 months). The overall 5-, 10- and 20-year survival rate were 71.8%, 61.5% and 43.7%, respectively. There was the significant higher 5-year overall survival rate in patients who underwent surgery combined with radiotherapy (76.7%) than other treatment modalities (p = 0.001). Stage I patients had a 52.1% 20-year overall survival rate compared with 42.2% for stage III patients. Conclusion: The early detection of endometrial cancer had a good prognosis and increased long term survival rate. Our results suggested radiotherapy following surgery was one of the effective treatments for endometrial cancer patients. Key words: Endometrial cancer, Radiotherapy, Overall survival, FIGO 2009.
