We hypothesize that teen narcissistic personality is directly related to the use of problematic smartphone games and is indirectly linked to problematic smartphone game usage by mediating mental health problems. The results of this study show that: (1) There is a significant positive correlation between teen narcissistic personality and mental health problems, (2) Mental health problems have a positive impact on the use of problematic smartphone games, (3) There is a significant positive correlation between data teen narcissistic personality and the use of problematic smartphone games, and (4) teen narcissistic personality has a positive impact on the use of problematic smartphone games through the intermediary effect of mental health problems. This study shows that there is a direct correlation between narcissistic personality and mobile game addiction, and mental health problems partially regulate this effect. These findings may reflect the fact that the unique personality characteristics of narcissistic personality tend to develop into the addiction of mobile games.
