With regard to mobile payment, Alipay, the most popular mobile payment in China, should be mentioned. Alipay which is an international payment platform has already had more than 400 million users around the world. With the increasing popularity of mobile payment, suppliers provide various mobile payments with different technology, such as Quick response code, Near-field communication, etc. These services might make payment become not only easier and faster, but also safer for technology security. Furthermore, it provides more options for payment. Therefore, how to make their own service stand out from the crowd would be important for supplier. The current research aims to determine the main factors of mobile payment adoption and the intention to continue mobile payment. Therefore, we propose a research framework and integrate the technology acceptance model (TAM) for adoption of mobile payment and the factors which influence behavioral intention to use. We use Partial Least Squares (PLS) to examine each hypothesis and use t-test to know difference between different levels on continuance intention to use mobile payment. The results indicate that research framework for integrating the TAM, social motivation, trust, and technology security could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the behaviors related to mobile payment: (1) the behavioral intention to use is critical to the continuance intention to use, (2) perceived usefulness and attitude has a significant effect on behavioral intention to use, (3) perceived ease of use and perceived trust affect perceived usefulness, (4) social recognition and perceived ease of use affect perceived usefulness, (5) social recognition and perceived trust are found to play important roles in predicting continuance intention to use mobile payment, (6) unexpectedly, perceived trust has no significant effect on perceived usefulness, and perceived technology security has no significant effect on behavioral intention to use, and (7) the difference between China and Taiwan is that perceived usefulness do not affect attitude in China , but perceived usefulness do affect attitude in Taiwan.
