The scope of the consideration covers the economic benefits and non-economic benefits caused by social and emotional factors. Due to the previous related research borrows the family involvement as agent variables to explore entrepreneurial behavior in the family firms, but has been criticized for not estimating family member’s socioemotional wealth (SEW) directly. Therefore, this study selects 20 Taiwanese listed companies as research samples, not only analyzes market observation information but also classifies and encodes SEW models through content analysis methods to directly measure the SEW composition. The effect seeks to explore the connotation of SEW of family firms, as well as the interaction in the SEW various structures. The result of the analysis was found that family firms value the “binding social ties”. Moreover, each aspect including “family control and influence”, “binding social ties”, and “emotional attachment” is positively correlated to “renewal of family bonds to the firm through dynastic succession”. But apart from “family members’ identification with the frim”, it is negatively correlated to “family control and influence” and “renewal of family bonds to the firm through dynastic succession”. However, this study was also discovered that different family features: corporate governance, company size, and company performance have significant differences for SEW.
