In Taiwan the mortality rate of heart disease is increasing year by year. The life situations and health care become the important issue of the patients. Diet control,frequency of exercise and smoking become important factors for patients after heart disease. Smoking kills more than 7 million people each year and researches have shown that smoking increases the risk of heart attacks. Therefore, this research wanted to explore whether smoking may increase the mortality rate of heart disease patients and establish a predict model. The research used the total of 758 heart disease patients’s basic data from 2005 to 2010 National Health and Nutrition Examination (NHANES) database, using survival analysis and forecast method to explore the risk in seven years for heart disease patients who smoking. The results of the study found that smoking can increase the risk of death for heart disease patients and have different extreme results in different basic population traits. It is recommended that patients with heart disease should avoid smoking habits, reduce morbidity and the risk of death.
