Summary: | 碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 生物醫學影像暨放射科學系 === 106 === Cancer has been the top ten leading causes of death in Taiwan for 36 years, therefore, the cancer treatments are emphasized in our country. Radiotherapy is one of the cancer treatments, and the radiation safety and the accuracy of prescription dose are extremely important. Mutileaf Collimation (MLC) is an indepensible component in LINAC. With the development of radiotherapy, quality assurance of MLC accuracy is increasing. According to American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) TG-142 report, the commended procedures for MLC are used in our research. Radiochromic film and electronic portal imaging devices (EPID) are used to perform the procedures. Films were common tools in dose calibration in the past, however, the process of film analysis was time consuming. On the other hand, EPID is time saving in using and analyzing. Thus, EPID was excellent in clinical calibration. In this study, the results demonstrate the importance of MLC quality assurance. Because of MLC accuracy influencing the prescription dose, we should develop quality assurance procedures for MLC to improve the cancer treatment effect.
