Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立陽明大學 === 生物醫學工程學系 === 106 === Knee osteoarthritis (OA), the major cause of disabilities in elderly groups, is one of the common degenerative joint disease. Physical rehabilitation exercise is one of the common non-drug therapies for OA. Typically, knee OA patient is asked to perform rehabilitation exercise continuously in home environment after 6 weeks rehabilitation exercise in the clinic. However, there are some issues should be tackled while OA patients perform rehabilitation exercise without supervision of physical therapist, such as improper postures in rehabilitation exercise, low adherence, manual errors and individual variance between different raters. In this study, we propose a quantitative assessment approach based on kinematic-based parameter groups for knee osteoarthritis rehabilitation exercise analysis in home environment. The system can provide feedback about performance of rehabilitation exercise for patients and physical therapists. Wearable sensors placed on the waist, thigh and shank are utilized to collect the motion data during the rehabilitation exercise. An assessment index are calculated by the kinematic-based parameter from the motion data. In the experiment, the subjects were equally between the experimental and control group. The experimental and control group executing rehabilitation exercise 22 day and 5 day, respectively. The two group experimental results have progressive trend that to represent training muscle. The results show the rehabilitation assessment grades that to acquire rehabilitation progress for physical therapists and patients.
