Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 視覺藝術學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === The research is based on a genuine case study of an NPC (Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma) patient, the researcher herself, to examine the reflection of traumas and the recovery through creative work of illustrations of picture books. The researcher adopted the art-based research with a narrative approach to analyze the case. The subject took the studio-trilogy pattern to construct her artwork, experiencing and exploring the meaning of "art as therapy" in person. Through the presentation of art creation, she was able to confront traumas of life, conducted self-dialogue, and witnessed, testified on Facebook the wonderful healing power from art creation. The subject's works consisted of seven series. Series One is Red Alert; Series Two, Orange Mist; Series Three, Yellow Shining; Series Four, Reborn Green vines; Series Five, Blue Melancholy; Series Six, Awakened Hydrocyanite; and Series Seven, Crape Myrtle in Blossom. Each of the first three series has three themes, and each of the rest four series has two themes, so totally the presented collection is composed of seventeen works of art. From the research, it can be proved that art creation with narrative composition really helps the psychological recovery of cancer victims. Furthermore, reflection on personal life story clarifies one's true nature, understands oneself profoundly, and promotes personal psychological growth.
