This study explores whether writing can be incorporated into children's art education to develop new teaching methods. The foreign and domestic composition teaching strategies were investigated to induce the appropriate methods to be applied in art education. Two fifth-grade classes were used as the experimental and control groups. The result shows that the experimental group students achieve significantly higher than the control group. The main finding is that, compared to the control group, the experimental group children can make art works more interesting and improve their abilities in story-telling, creativity, and their overall performance. Results of the research are as the following: (1) Applying writing teaching strategies into children’s art classes can elevate children’s creativity. (2) Applying writing teaching strategies into children’s art classes can assist children’s panting performance. (3) Regarding the overall performance, the experimental group is better than the control group.
