Everything in this world has its curse of change and development. The first and best way to understand the current situation is to study its past. By exploring the history, we know the present better. Furthermore, the answer of the questions responding to the modern time may be found along with investigating the meanings of historical events.
scholars pointed out, The impact following the time changing is significant on the awareness of our bodies and minds. The body experience of calm and steady has increasingly withered. And they warned, Over the decades, the western-style physical education has been adapted as the main stream from one generation to another. Thus, the majority of modern society have gradually alienated from the style, content and cultural connotation of traditional physical education. The cultural status of Chinese martial arts became fuzzy, and even worse -- redefined because of losing our cultural stand. The distinguishing feature of national culture gradually vanished, and assimilated by the western culture.
The primary goal of the thesis, through investigating theorigin and formation of the Bajiquan, is to develop an overall understanding about the traditonal body culture and theoretical structure of the traditional martial arts; to find out the structure and meanings of the bajiquan, and therefore, enhance the understanding about our tradional culture.
