Paganini (1782-1840), and H. Berlioz (1803-1869). Liszt implemented a combination of unique techniques and subjective emotions to create “The Virtuoso Style”. He became one of the quintessential roles in the Romantic School. His contribution to the development of piano music was significant and everlasting. Evidently, he holds a pivotal position in the Romantic School. Recalling his romantic, sentimental and dramatic life, Liszt created an abundance of admirable works. Beyond his unique style of Virtuoso, we can observe connotations and ideas in those pieces, along with prominent portrayals of characteristics. Ballade No. 2, in B minor, S.171, subject to the proposed research, is one of his masterpieces during his later stages of life. Analyzing the techniques used in Franz Liszt’s work, transformation from unrestrained styles of early stages to a comparatively mild and reserved manner can be seen. This progression of work reflected the implementation of Virtuoso styles. It enhanced the depth within the music, also exhibiting his magnificent techniques and emotions. For reasons listed above, Ballade No. 2, in B minor, S.171 is able to become Liszt's eternal masterpiece.
