Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 教育學系 === 106 === The purpose of this study was to explore graduate students’ overcoming fixation and flexibility in mathematical problem solving. The research participants were five graduate students from the same graduate school. The data of the study consisted of the participants’ problem solving performances on five mathematical problems, think-aloud protocols when solving the problems, and the researcher’s observation notes. The findings of the study showed that the participants’ overcoming fixation and flexibility performances differed across their problem solving experiences and the types of the problems. The relationship between the participants’overcoming fixation and flexibility performances were as follows. 1. They overcame fixation, amd they produced new flexibility. 2. Although they overcame fixation, they didn’t produce new flexibility. 3. Although they didn’t overcome fixation, they produced new flexibility. 4. They didn’t overcome fixation, and they didn’t produce new flexibility. Keywords: flexibility, mathematical problem solving, overcoming fixation
