碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 電影創作學系碩士班 === 106 === The film The Sisters was adapted by the stage play of the same name written by Tianya LIU in 2016. The protagonists of the story were two sisters. The elder sister was an artist studying painting in the UK without coming back home during 10 years. However, she suddenly came back home one day. The younger sister who stays in Taiwan, lead an ordinary life and took care of their father. She didn’t know why the elder sister came back so she bought mochi to entertain her. Mochi was elder sister’s favorite snack and it brought up the memories of the sisters. They started to talk about the past and present lives to catch up each other. The elder sister revealed the real reason why she came back. She wanted to sell the old house where younger sister had been living these years. The younger sister thought her elder sister was too selfish. She was not as talent as elder sister and the house was the only thing she could keep. Elder sister said this house would always remind her of her father who used to abuse violence to her. The essay will inspect the style and aesthetic from angles of the genre, theme, script structure, acting, filming, lighting, sound, art design, editing. Moreover, it will discuss the executive process, review the film, and record the harvest and reflection of the author.
