Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北藝術大學 === 舞蹈研究所 === 106 === The researcher has worked in the Cloud Gate Dance School for more than a decade, where she comes in contact with many families in her teaching. Also, being a mother of two, her children once participated with their father in the parent-child classes. Her teaching and child-father experiences motivate the research study. Of great interest to her is the changes the course can bring about through physical interaction of individuals and the father involvement makes it more explorable; thus, it is her intention to explore the Cloud Gate Dance School Parent-child Course in her three-fold role as a parent, researcher, and teacher.
The purpose of this study is to observe through activities-based teaching the effectiveness of the Cloud Gate parent-child programme implementation. The data collection is through participant observation, video recordings of lessons, handwritten notes in class-observation, parents’ learning experience questionnaire, interviews transcribed, and curriculum and teaching analysis. Through the physical-exploration in class, the researcher discovers the key factors that contribute to good parent-child interaction; this helps to form an understanding of the influence of a father in parent-child interaction. From this, the value of participants' interaction in the Cloud Gate parent-child rhythmic lesson concludes the findings.
The study finds that the Cloud Gate Dance School parent-child course, through the learning process of game style touch-induced body interaction, opens up parent-child physical capability, establishes two-way oral communication channels, and unlocks group learning. The results are visible in the implementation. At the same time, positive, affirmative encouragement, with parents’ enjoyment in the involvement, is the crucial key to parent-child interaction. The father's incomparable role, through physical interaction, satisfies the child’s physical and mental needs and strengthens their attachment and dependence on each other.
Finally, in the rethinking of the three roles of researcher, parent, and educator - to reflect on the research process - comes the suggestion to the Cloud Gate Dance School, parents, and future Aspirants, on teacher resource deployment, curriculum design, teaching aids application and to parents' attitude towards body in gender issues. It hopes that the moving together of this small parent-child research will be a start in reaching a beautiful environment where children can genuinely grow healthily and happily.
