In different ages, the architect tries to find out a kind of architectural style and characteristic which belong to the time. Some people think that architectural style comes from the past understanding of semiotics, or architectural style should be the result from the use of local readily available materials, and some people think that architectural style comes directly from the construction. With the evolution of architectural theories, people gradually turn to the traditional thinking of style, and become the pursuit of the past never appeared, and try to create a new architectural style. Weaving is a process that humans have been using for a long time, and it has been evolving over the years, but there are many restrictions on the application of weaving in architecture, such as manpower, time, money, and etc., however many architectural theorists and architects have tried to apply weaving technique into architecture. In the past, the discussion of architectural weaving rationality seems to be subject to a lot of limitations, in addition to the material constraints of composite members, the most important thing is that the impression of weaving is still only limited to plane or façade, did not try to conduct the three-dimensional whole of the weaving composition. In the past, people''s imagination of knitting is only by hand, but thanks to the digital design developed in the information age, through computer-aided design and manufacturing, parametric software and digital hardware, we have the possibilities for the new developments of weaving in digital architecture through data precessing. From the past to the present, timber is a common material in architecture, and people uses timber for construction in the history for a very long time. The studies of timber today are rich, the reason behind are timber is easy to obtain, processing convenient, reusable and environmentally friendly material. Contemporary advances in timber processing technology make the materiality of timber as strong as concrete. This research discusses the knowledge and methods of timber tectonic, and organizes the discussion of weaving from planar weaving to three dimensional weaving in space. In the designs of this study apply different techniques of weaving, step-by-step from the discussion of the existing weaving, the process of weaving procedures, and the final is a 1:1 scale timber structure of weaving. 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系碩士班 === 106 === Architectural style is an interesting and constantly challenged topic for architects.
