Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 能源與冷凍空調工程系 === 106 === Traditional data center is designed to cool the entire computer room., there is no good hot and cold aisle design, the cooling effect in the computer room may be poor, and the cooling system covers an enormous area and cannot handle higher-power servers. In recent years, the development of closed racks has gradually become more important. Compared with traditional data centers, it has the advantages of handling high-power servers in terms of heat dissipation, energy conservation, and floor space reduction. This study uses energy simulation software eQUEST as a tool to assess data center energy efficiency. Mainly through the change of the ambient temperature of the computer room and the chilled water supply temperature, this study provides a comparison of two different types of data centers. In terms of energy, closed-rack data centers have 14.8% more energy saving than traditional data centers. It can save 59.5% of the floor space, and can save up to 14.97% in the exergy destruction. The results of this study can provide an important reference for building or improving the data center in consideration of energy saving and cost saving.
