During the updating process, the Inundation potential modeling construction process and its raw data approach standardized due to the development of "Inundation Potential Map Production and Testing Manual" and "SOP of Maintaining and Updating for 2D Flood Modeling.” As the local engineering design value the inundation potential map model, it is necessary to add more detailed terrain data and engineering design. In order to ensure the reliability of the model calculation, it requires timely update and correction to maintain the correctness of its raw data. Currently, the model update necessitates the model raw data updating and under standard operation procedures to achieve the consistency of the heterogeneous data. In terms of the current procedure, however, the users are hard to distinguish the differences from the model, in result to too much different model versions to control the data update. Based on the fact, the study proposes a concept that by analyzing the general database structure of SOBEK model, and applying to the model update process, to make the database contain and manage the data. As the raw data is updated, the data will corresponds to the parameters and characteristics that are stored in the database and analyzed its data characteristics to achieve version management. This study will show the application of database assisting the update process of the potnetial Inundation map, and take the cross-section data as an actual case example of verification to design a data comparison and analysis process.
