This thesis focused on notebook computers under the same test condition, changed CPU (Central Processing Unit) power status and operation system installation location to compare the overall power consumption improvement level of DC power (battery life) and AC power (Energy Star). The experimental result proves that it can improve 1.36 W power consumption on DC power (battery life increased about 2.28 hr), and improve 6.37 W power consumption on AC 100V/ 50 Hz input power. The biggest contribution of this thesis is to save energy expenditure, meant that reduce the damage caused to human living environment by the greenhouse gas such as carbon dioxide so as to improve the quality of life and save the global environment.
