| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 建築系建築與都市設計碩士班 === 106 === The damage caused by termites is the greatest amid termite deterioration diagnosis in a building as a large number of termites would not generate voice while biting and eating building materials. Therefore, when any termite is found by house owner, interior parts of the building materials have been seriously damaged. Taiwan is located in a subtropical region, wherein sultry and humid worsen the formation of termite. Upon bite and eaten by termites, the structure of building is damaged, plus that Taiwan is located on the earthquake region that the damaged building is more vulnerable to earthquake.
Under the premise of prevention of construction medicine and improvement of environmental safety, the study herein discussed termite degradation in a building as the motive. Administrative authority did not make any studies on the acknowledgment and prevention of termite degradation, standard and mechanism for maintenance and improvement specifically and explicitly. Whereas the study herein will discuss ways to detect various phenomena of termite degradation and investigate those cases of termite degradation. We discussed the factor to the effect on termite degradation with collection of literature, discussion of laws, regulation and mechanism governing safety of a house, field survey, AHP expert questionnaire and other methods, establish effect factor and weights, assessing the reasons of degradation of building caused by termites, as well as termite diagnosis & assessment mode, survey on the latest status of real cases and give assistance to those researchers in the academy circles pertinent to budilng in the diagnosis and assessment of termites affecting degradation of a building.
We concluded on the countermeasures taken to improve effect of termite degradation as follows:
I. The acknowledgment and weights built for factors to the effect on termite degradation
With literature collection and field survey, the factors to the effect on the degradation of termite include cracks, embrittlement/collapse, fracture, nesting/antway; they also include the location where the termite damage is degraded in a building, location in an area where the cased building was set, surrounding environment of the cased building and other factors … and so on.
II. Termite deterioration assessment form and improvement & prevention plan
In this study, we assessed and categorized the existing cases and the condition of termite deterioration, thereby analyzing ways to improve and maintain for home safety as the primary achievement. We also apply the readings in the Study herein as the reference to the improvement and management of termite degradation in a building in the subsequent discussion for the setting of management rules.
III. Set up direction of development in a certification for professional of termites.
