Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 化學工程與生物科技系化學工程碩士班 === 106 === Using silicon dioxide modified by silane as additive for waterborne polyurethane Orgainc-inorganic nanocomposites has been discussed a lot nowadays, In this study, we are dedicated to modifying silicon dioxide as additive for waterborne polyurethane, and research its result.
In this research waterborne polyurethane was synthesised by using Isophorone diisocyanate, IPDI; Polytetramethylene glycol with molecular weight of 2,000 g/mol; an anionomer 2,2-Bishydroxymethylpropionic acid, DMPA; a neutral agent Triethylamine, TEA; and ethylene diamine, EDA as for chain extender with a molar ratio of 3:1:1:1:0.5. We first use hydrochloric acid to modifiy the surface of silicon dioxide to have hydroxyl group well-distributed, later we choose APTES to make chemical bond Si-O-Si with SiO2 on one side, and on the other side it has –NH2 to make chemical bond with –NCO for prepolymer, the role of APTES is like a bridge for organic and inorganic. We use FT-IR to see the change of funtional group before and after of silicon dioxide; and absorbency test to see the water absorption; last we have DSC and DMA to test the thermal and mechanical properties to find out the best amount of silicon dioxide to add into waterborne polyurethane.
