Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 歷史學系 === 106 === The thesis intends to explore the phenomenon of dog eating in Taiwan after war. It mainly USES government documents and newspapers, and studies them with diaries, memoirs, novels and related articles. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the thesis is divided into three parts. First of all, the thesis investigates the dog eating situation of the Han Chinese in qing dynasty and Japan, and then discusses the main food groups. What kind of social problems have arisen? And in 1960, why did the provincial government publish a ban on the public sale of dog meat? Secondly, after the Taiwan provincial government announced the ban, the phenomenon of dog eating still exists in Taiwan. Why can't the ban effectively ban dog meat from circulating in the market? How does public opinion look at this? What is the source of dog meat without legal slaughterhouses and health checks? What about health issues? And what is the special attraction of dog meat? In the end, after the crackdown, the civil society of animal protection was established, and how did they get involved in Taiwan's dog eating phenomenon? What is the discussion about the legislation and revision of the animal protection law? The thesis is not to criticize the behavior of dog eating, or to solve the tough problem that dog meat can be eaten or not. It is expected to make up for the lack of articles on the phenomenon of dog eating in Taiwan after war, so that people can have a more accurate understanding of this matter. The historical process of understanding the phenomenon of dog eating in Taiwan provides more comprehensive and thinking and help on issues related to this issue (e.g., animal protection, animal rights, human and animal relations). Assists in animal protection.
