碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 休閒與遊憩管理學系碩士在職專班 === 106 === This study examined the feasibility of an operating model for introducing pickleball into the Wufu community in the Wufeng District of Taichung City. Interviews with residents in the community revealed that most of them expressed a willingness to continue to play pickleball and hoped that the Sports Bureau of Taichung City Government or the Chinese Taipei Pickleball Association could assist in the arrangement of a coaching system. However, because of financial difficulties, the community cannot afford to hire professional coaches from the Chinese Taipei Pickleball Association to guide the residents; hence, the residents hope to apply for a government subsidy for this purpose. Because venues for playing pickleball in the community are limited, the residents usually play pickleball at the venue below Zhongtou Highway (Provincial Highway 63). Most residents are content with playing pickleball at this venue. According to the aforementioned assertions, this study proposed the following recommendations to serve as a reference for people who are interested in pickleball. 1. Apply for projects through the public sector to introduce pickleball to the general public. 2. Provide information on pickleball activities through social network sites or provide coaching sessions for older adults in community colleges. 3. Hold activities such as camps at school venues during winter and summer vacations to introduce pickleball to older adults in the community.
