博士 === 亞洲大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 106 === In the past 20 years, with the rapid development of mobile communication technologies and the popularization of smart phones and tablet computers, people's daily life habits and information acquisition methods have been completely changed. In the past, reading paper books or newspapers have been transferred into reading electronic files or online news, so the demand for e-books is increasing day by day, making traditional publishing companies face tremendous impacts and challenges. Although the cost of digital publishing is relatively low, it is easily copied and quickly distributed by interested people, causing losses to publishers and authors. Therefore, how to effectively manage digital copyrights in e-books has become an important issue. This dissertation proposed a blockchain-based management model for copyright management issues in e-books. By utilizing the characteristics of decentralized, non-destructive, and transparent data disclosure in the blockchain technology, e-books are published, distributed, sold, and transferred. The entire data is recorded on the e-book blockchain network, so any author, publisher, or consumer can digitally verify the copyright of purchased or held e-books through the e-book blockchain network. Therefore, authors and publishers can also use the e-book blockchain network to inquire about the number of e-books that were actually issued and circulated, and help improve the digital copyright management of the e-book as a whole.
