碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 社會工作學系 === 106 === The phrase “church is the mother of Social Work” (Lu, 2001) is a clear explanation of the important role and influence of churches in the social work development. Due to the impact of globalization and community-based work methods, churches nowadays needed to serve and participate more in community work more than ever. Research purpose: 1. To discover how the churches apply the three important social work methods and the current status of direct practice in social work. 2. To discuss the influence of social work methods and direct practice in social work in churches. 3. To predict the involvement of believers in churches through their basic characteristics, social work methods and direct practice in social work. Research methods: This research applied convenient sampling method, and aimed for the church members who involve in churches cell groups. A total of 900 questionnaires were distributed, and 602 valid questionnaires were returned. Suggestions: The positive effects of churches applying social work methods and direct practice in social work is significant. Based on the result, the suggestion of using social work methods and relevant technic
