The purposes of this study are :(1)Comparison of Junior high school class design between Grade 1-9 Curriculum and 12-year Basic Education. (2)The suitable competency-oriented career development course design for eight-grade junior high school students - Shining My Future.(3)Evaluate the implementation and performance of “Shining My Future” career development course (4)Analyze the teacher in the role of competency-oriented course. Subjects in this action reserch consist of 29 junior high school students in Hualien County. The instruments used are including competency-oriented career development course design, interview summaries, personal reflections, student satisfaction surveys, and video records. This study uses qualitative method。 The results of this studyare as follows. (1)Grade 1-9 Curriculum emphasis the course design which integrate the cognition, Affective Domain and Psychomotor Domain, also focus on the skill development for students, 12-year Basic Education focus on core competencies, emphasis the competency-oriented career and "act autonomously," "communicate interactively," and "social participation." (2) Sudents can recognize the interaction among character, family and environment, they can self-analysis, set up the initial future goal, short-term, mid-term and long-term plan and arrange the action plan by Vocational Interest Inventory, Career Sort Card and SWOT. Though video, peer discussion, they are capable of professional morals, and can manage the priority in their daily life. (3)The difficulties and strategies while implementing course are as below: helping students to build up their acting autonomously before implementing of the competency-oriented career; students are lack of imagination for the future, so increase the imagination related course. (4)In competency-oriented career, the teacher changes the role to helper and guider, provide more opportunities for interaction in the course and practicing, and interforce them are active learning role. Finally, based on the results several suggestions were proposed for educational practice and future research reference
