Description
Summary:碩士 === 慈濟大學 === 社會工作學系碩士班 === 106 === This research is to understand the therapists’ journey on treating groups of sexual offenders, how the group therapy works and their treatment expectation. In addition, this research intends to discover the possible challenges, personal adjustments or transformation that therapists may encounter during the process of group therapy. According to the research purpose, qualitative research method is selected and used. Through personal connections with therapists working in group therapy, four therapists were invited to be interviewed by the researcher who is also a group therapist of sexual offenders. The life stories of the four therapists and the researcher are respectively presented in their narratives. This research consists of group therapists’ personal experiences on treating sexual assault offenders and descriptions of possible shocks and conflicts which the group therapists would face and how they think, adjust, and come up with solutions. Besides, by comparing different therapists’ operational patterns in groups, the research findings could also be a reference for potential therapists in the future.
