Summary: | 碩士 === 南臺科技大學 === 創新產品設計系 === 106 === Due to the lack of neurotransmitter dopamine and noradrenaline in their brain, the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) children have difficulty in concentrating while performing an task. Nevertheless, according to the researches related to exercise therapy, the ADHD children have better cognitive ability with coordinated movement, which also improves their brain's executive function. The Wii game, for instance, was used to improve the balancing and concentrating for ADHD children in the past, and other high-tech aids have also been widely used in the treatment for special diseases in our age.
The prospect of this study is to develop a sports game for children with ADHD by using the advantages of simulation in virtual reality (VR). The operation of this sports game is based on the VR game - VIVE, produced by HTC. The goal is to encourage children to take part in rehabilitation therapy, and in the meantime to help children with the need for at-home training. In the attempt to make a comparison between VR assisted training and traditional sport training, this experiment has recruited 3 ADHD children with equal capability in cognition action. There were 40 minutes per class, two classes per week and a total of 12 weeks for the training. There were also the assessment answered by parents using the questionnaires before and after the experiment. With the findings of this research, the ADHD children has a positive and effectual change after the training; at the same time, we are expecting the results as a reference for future study and rehabilitation therapy.
