E-commerce has been won the approval of many people, hence, many people purchase high-priced cargos via e-commerce, today. Follow this, the demand has gradually increased for delivery of high-priced and fragile cargos that also indirectly drives the vigorous development of the logistics industry. Therefore, how to make ensure the safely shipment of the high-priced or fragile cargos? That is a main issue that the current logistics industry should be considered. To solve the above-mentioned issued, this thesis proposes an IoT-based intelligent logistics monitoring system for monitoring high-priced and fragile cargos in transport procedures. The proposed system consists of an intelligent tape (named iTape), a built-in GPS in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform, and an on-line information platform. A self-developed flexible circuit board with mounted on several resistive pressure sensors and connects a terminal recognition circuit, which are made as an iTape. The iTape is applied to package the shipped cargo box for monitoring cargos transport procedures. When the shipped cargo box is damaged (dropped) or stolen (tear off the iTape) in the transport procedures, the abnormal event will be triggered by the abnormal event recognition algorithm. In other words, iTape will immediately transmit this cargo abnormal event to the built-in GPS in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform via low-power Bluetooth (BLE) wireless communication technique. Moreover, the built-in GPS in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform will also immediately transmit abnormal events to the on-line information platform for recording the abnormal event information (such as time and place, etc.) via 4G networks. Experimental results showed that the proposed system can successfully detect and record abnormal events that have been occurred during the transport procedures. As a result, the logistics industry can provide the delivery quality of high-priced and fragile cargos to avoid an occurrence of loss or damage in the delivery of cargos.
