Description
Summary:博士 === 世新大學 === 傳播研究所(含博士學位學程) === 106 === It is irrational to see pre-modern’ s idea of media by as primitive, rough or unscientific. We must throw ourselves into the ancient world and understand it originally. Only in this way, shall we have an insight that the ancients’ ideas are not childish illusions, rather, they paved the way of understanding the meaning of Being through media. It must be stressed that this paper is not about a pile of knowledge about McLuhan or Heidegger’ s philosophy of technology, but to orient readers to enter into the realm of understanding the meaning of Being through the history of ideas of media. The ultimate aim is to reconstruct the road of questioning Being through media with related chapters. On this road , issues such as the relationship between representation and reality, the nature of media and the relationship between media and Being are of great importance about the understanding of the meaning of Being. These issues are profoundly responded by Boter and Grusin’ s new media theory, Ihde’ s phenomenology of technology, McLuhan’ s ideas of media, Groys’ phenomenology of media and Kittler’ s media theory, etc. And this paper will reveal how these ideas open up the possibilities of thinking .
