The research object of this study is the team players of Yonghe Elementary School team in New Taipei City. The researchers participated in and observed the team's various activities, game records, interviews with team players, their parents and coaches, and related documents - magazine articles collected by parents, official documents, meeting records etc. conducting triangular verification and text review to examine and summarize the discussion. The results of the study found that the motivation for participation differs with family background, and will continue to be reconstructed in accordance with changes in time and place. In the entry stage of their training, they are health fitness, psychological needs, and social needs; the stage after joining the team are achievement needs, health fitness, and psychological needs; the stage when competing in the field are achievement needs and social needs. Family support is mainly based on substantive support. In the entry phase of their practice, emotional support is to respect and agree with their participation in the sports community. Substantial support is to provide tuition fees, pick them up from school; Join the team stage - emotional support is to keep them company when practicing, and comfort them after strict training. Informational support is to guide primary table tennis techniques and rules, value children’s needs and provide diverse learning information. Substantive support is to deal with table tennis-related administrative work and teach children who are behind the curriculum; The stage when competing in the field - emotional support is the adjustment and comfort through victory and defeat, giving care and encouragement when accidentally injured. Informational support is to teach the right attitude when playing, and to provide the opponent’s background information, personal future development and career planning. Substantial support is provided for the cost of practicing the ball and accompanied at all times during the game. Comprehensive support is to cheer by their side, accompany them through wins and losses and face failure (emotional support), obtain match information, provide opponent’s performance information (informative support), complete the formalities for school leave, arrange transportation, accommodation, insurance, provisions of competition clothing, assembly venues, and accompanied by parents (substantive support).
