Description
Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 社會工作學系 === 106 === Abstract I have been imaged that I have a car accident while I am still working on my dissertation. If that were real, could I still write according to my original plan? I think the answer is no. Because life has already changed. There are two crucial incidents really happened during the time of my dissertation writing. They forced me to revise my arrangement of the chapters, and even changed the angle of my interpretation. The first crucial incident happened during my first oral examination. After that, I reread my dissertation and reflect my life from a higher place. That was the moment when Peter Pan was born. The second crucial incident was the passing away of my dissertation supervisor . The first few week after losing my supervisor, the dissertation writing became nothing important. I started to memorize every moments I have spent with him, and then write them down. This action accidentally brought me out of sorrow, and even gave me a second chance to face myself and my relationship with others. My new supervisor helped me to sort out those words in a more meticulous way. After many revisions, you could see the completed version now. It’s a story that sways between different positions. It sways between being a teenager or an adult; between being a boy or a girl; between friendship or love relationship; between rationality or sensibility; between science or hermeneutics. On the other hand, it is a life journal of a researcher. It is about the researcher’s response to the death of his dissertation supervisor while he was still working on it. We might have many beliefs, but we only have one soul. We encounters different things in life, but the essence of life is similar. Narrative dissertation usually presents the common life issues and gives us the opportunity to meet each other in the stories. However, we all know that supporting each other is not the ultimate goal of life. In the end, we all need to return to the sea and to find out the reason of our existence.
