The word "automated" appeared during second half of 2016 and instantly became a phenomenon; not only did many car manufacturers and computer software companies started to research and develop, but it also attracted many people's attention. Automated vehicle also known as self-driving car, is a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input. The reason for developing autonomous car is to improve traffic safety, preventing drunk driving and fatigue driving; while hoping to ease traffic problem and achieve the purpose of eco-friendly at the same time. Like everything else, autonomous car also faces many problems. We have to consider factors like regulations, computer system malfunction, attack of hackers or the ethical choices after incidents. When technology has been constantly being developed and slowly dominating our daily lives, do we need to stop and think about whether we have been controlled by technology and have lost our way? This essay will discuss automated vehicle; we will first briefly introduce the definition and development trends of autonomous car, then we will analyze the benefit and possible difficulties of autonomous car including cybersecurity, ethical and insurance wise. Finally, we will refer to each country's guidance outline and laws and regulations to sum up the possibilities of introducing autonomous vehicle to our country.
