Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 106 === The purpose of this study is to discuss the limitations and possibilities our nation faces under Communist China’s strong interference with Taiwan’s international diplomacy. Research findings show that since China’s economic reform, its financial abilities have gradually grew stronger on the stage of the world. It has now become the second largest economy. Especially since the 1990s, China’s magnet effect on Taiwan’s economy has gradually increased and our economy’s reliance on China has also increased, almost to the point where it threatens our national security. Under these circumstances, the government under President Tsai Ing-wen proposed the New Southbound Policy in order to solve the problem of our economy’s over-reliance on China with hopes of spreading the risk Taiwanese businesses face when investing in China and to develop actual economic and trade relations with Southeast Asian countries. They hope that this will in turn increase Taiwan’s international appearance and importance on the world’s stage. For this purpose, the researcher offers a few conclusions based on the research findings: (1) Taiwan should actively develop diverse and mutually beneficial relationships with Southeast Asian countries; (2) Taiwan should actively strengthen non-governmental relationships with Southeast Asian countries; (3) Taiwan should make good use of the effects migrant workers, foreign spouses and their offspring have.
