In addition to a city’s specialties and its management system, another important factor influencing the competitiveness of a city is its infrastructure(such as its public transit system). This study identify critical criteria and model for the evaluation of sustainable development of the public transit system -- Mass Rapid Transportation(MRT)-- in Taipei City and New Taipei City via the Delphi Method. The Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)and Analytic Hierarchical Process(AHP)approach identifies four criterias(economic and financial planning, transportation and urban planning, infrastructure and environment, and service and operating abilityand twelve sub-criteria such as city population density and local government’s self-generated capital ratio). Of the four criteria, economic and financial planning and service and operating ability are the first and second most prominent and influential criteria. Of the twelve sub-criteria, city population density, and local government’s self-generated capital ratio are the three most well-performed factors, while the integration of transportation vehicles, road and trail system planning, and system reliability are the three sub-criteria that require attention and improvements the most in order to achieve a more technologically-advanced yet sustainable metro system for fulfilling the city’s transportation needs thereby making it more competitive SHEN, KAO-YI 沈高毅 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 176 zh-TW
