However, extreme climate and environmental changes coupled with natural disasters in recent years, have led to sharp declines in crop yields. Global warming, sea level rising, land desertification, river and land pollution, fresh water resources and arable land reducing, and young generation leaving their hometowns causing detrimental to agricultural industry. Meanwhile, chemical carcinogens in food ingredient caused food safety problems and hazardous human health. Future increasing food demand would be a severe challenge to human being. It is very likely to cause a food crisis if without any improvement. It is known that the LED plant factory is a new solution to future food shortage, but many companies who enthusiastically invested in LED plants factory have finally closed their businesses due to unbalanced revenue and expenditure. This study hopes to identify the main reasons why LED plant factory operators cannot maintain their business. In order to know the current progress of world leading LED plant factories, this study focus on Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia. By selecting one of the representative countries to study their current status of LED plant factory development. Then, analyze their development strategies and put forward commercial strategy references to the upstream industry of the plant factories in Taiwan. Hoping to improve Taiwan industrial deploy and business strategy in order to increased business opportunities and domestic employment opportunities. The research conclusions show that the development of LED plant factories is a win-win strategy, which is beneficial to the people, the enterprises, and the environment. In addition to the tangible value, the intangible value is life education from LED plant factory to human. For those residents who have long time living in a city with high-density populations and high speed of living pace, the green life in LED plant factories will help eliminate stress and balance their body and mind.
