This sentence is the motto for the first-generation operator Chang Kuo-Chin, chairman of Tai-Yi company group. Taiwan first started operating seedlings in Nantou Puli, Taiwan. In 1990, it occupied a good reputation on the seedlings market in the middle and south of Taiwan.
After 921 earthquake hit, Chairman Chang promoted ecological education since 2000. It began to operate cabins and developed agriculture with tourism resources, integrated flower and agricultural products produced at Tai-Yi farm into daily life. From 2001, it was a multi-cornered business model for Tai-Yi. The second generation operator Chang Jia-hong back to Taiwan from aboard, he has agricultural technology to continue and expand the family business which already more than two decades. With the scale of the original planting and seedling farms, how can he use the advantages of his father’s past agricultural development to combine resort hotels with seedlings and plants, then develop a bright future in tourism industry of Taiwan with fierce competition.
This case was mainly developed from the seedling farm to the eco-leisure farm hotel model. In addition to cooperation with China, the economic policy of Taiwan and new cooperation policy with the Southeast Asian countries, the main business plan is still devoted to the development of seedling farms, agricultural technology development. How seedlings farms use existing agricultural resources, technological research and development capabilities, then through the cooperation of government or external resources, the leisure eco-education farms combine tourism into a unique resort hotel business model. In face the various challenges, how to allocate resources? Whether or not to really implement the meaning of using florals to dress up their colorful life has its in-depth exploration value.
