Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 工業管理系 === 106 === Recently, companies are facing rapid changes in the business environment as well as ever-evolving information technology. They have recognized the importance of ERP (enterprise resources planning) systems while implementing digitization. However, it requires a lot of efforts, resources, time and money for companies to implement ERP systems, not to mention various risks and organizational changes in consequence. This case study investigated how case company faced the choice of replacement for reasons such as obsolete ERP system; and how the managers simply believed that purchasing packaged software alone could increase the competitive advantages without realizing that trouble was already brewing within the organization the moment they signed purchase contract! From the perspective of the information systems success model, this case study analyzed how the case company successfully introduced ERP system in terms of business process reengineering, ERP and leadership theories. It also examined the phenomena in the process of system introduction by the case company by identifying operational flaws and attempted to simulate, through scientific methodology, an instance representation that provided a solution for the company so that the introduced ERP system could bring benefits the way it should. This case study was conducted following Harvard ‘teaching with cases’ approach and is consisted of two parts: case text and teaching guidance, which could be used for discussion of theoretical issues such as the information systems success model, business process reengineering, ERP and art of leadership. To fit the development of the story, part of the scenario described was fictitious and did not refer to any specific organization or individual. The analysis and results from this case study are for academic purposes only and are provided to senior managers as references for decision-making in the hope that these may inspire them to think and analyze more aspects from different angles to ensure successful decision making.
