Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 表演藝術教學碩士學位班 === 106 === This research is to study the possibility of applying the lecturing activities, performed with ventriloquism and hand-operated puppets, in the comprehensive teaching programs designed for senior-class students of elementary schools. It is hoped that the students will be able to understand the core concepts and teaching objectives delivered by teachers in the classroom. The activity programs are designed by combining the mysterious ventriloquism with “puppets” that will usually attract the attention of students. Through imitation and learning, the creative potential of students will be inspired to perform the ventriloquism.
In this research, 27 students are selected from among the Grade 5 students in an elementary school in Hsinchu County. It is hoped that the expression and creative ability of students will be polished through the 12 weeks of ventriloquism performance lecturing program. During the teaching process, the ventriloquism performance is carried out according to the lecturing structure focusing on creative drama instructions. The main subject of the program is the ventriloquism performance by which, the students are guided to practice the ventriloquism oral skills, script writing and puppet maneuvering through sequential and progressive dramatic activities. Finally, the students are encouraged to perform ventriloquism to testify their learning results.
The research results indicated that when applying the ventriloquism puppet in the comprehensive lecturing activities, the communication and interaction among students will be effectively improved through mutual coordination and group learning. In this way, it intensifies the cooperation attitude in learning among the students. Furthermore, the students are trained to write the script and this also effectively improves their ability in oral expression and creativity. It is expected that more teachers will be encouraged to conduct the academic lectures through the ventriloquism performance program. As such, more diversified lecturing activities will be developed to stimulate the student’s motivation in learning, improve the learning effects and promote other teaching aspects.
