The hard-won love of White Snake Bai Suzhen and mortal man Xu Xian have deeply loved by people and symbolizes people's fantasy and wanted for love. Until today, various artistic adaptations have been made and chanted endlessly. The famous Taiwanese opera “Ming Hwa Yuan Group” performed the The Legend of the White Snake at Wei Wu Ying Theatre in 2006. The scene of the flooded Jinshan Temple even negotiated the fire brigade's fire engine to spray water at the audience and caused many topics in Taiwan. That topics and scene has become a classic. The Legend of the White Snake continues to evolve in history. The texts of various are constantly absorbing, influencing, and transforming each other. The dynamic relationship between the text and society also forms a mutual aesthetic interest. This study will apply intertextuality theory with Feng Meng-Lung's “White Lady allways be Suppressed by Lei-Feng Tower” and Ming Hwa Yuan Group's The Legend of the White Snake, and verify the connection between 2 texts and discovery the new meaning. This study divide into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, that explain the study's research motivation, research methods, and research questions. The second chapter is the literature review, which research the historical evolution of the stories of the Legend of the White Snake and the related intertextuality research. The third chapter is research the influence of Feng Meng-Long's “White Lady allways be Suppressed by Lei-Feng Tower” for the creation of Ming Hwa Yuan Group's The Legend of the White Snake. The forth chapter is the analysis of intertextuality of “White Lady allways be Suppressed by Lei-Feng Tower” and The Legend of the White Snake, and generalize that meaning.
