Through the intercultural theory of Pavis and the Heroes theory of Campell, this study discovered that there were many differences among the lines, solo parts, appearance orders, formation of the characters of the female character, especially the leading actress, Elisabeth. The differences, which were made due to the stereotype of the genders, made the Takarazuka’s version incomplete. In Takarazuka , we can tell that female roles played by musume yaku were always set off the male role played by otokp yaku. This study concerned that how could Takarazuka adapt this masterpiece, which regarded the leading actresss, Elisabeth, as the only point on the stage in the original version. Takarazuka’s version needed to create its new interpretation and , at the same time, tried not to be against its traditional performance styles which had developed over a hundred years. This study probed the performance interpretation and intercultural adaptation of Takarazuka Revue in the case of the musical Elisabeth.
