The results suggest that although the difference of customer characteristics between channels is visible, group insurance policies sold by different channels don’t cause different probability loss and loss ratio. We also find that numbers of company’s employees, employee ratio, occupational classes and years of relationship with customers are significant factors to predict the probability of loss for group insurance; Numbers of company’s employees, industry categories and locations affect the loss ratio. The findings of this study offer some insights into pricing and underwriting strategy to the X-life insurance company to improve its group insurance business.
