The researchers first explored the advantages of the four popular Chinese self-learning apps in the Taiwan and mainland Chinese markets in terms of "interface function", "topic content" and "creative performance" by the end of November 2017 through analysis of individual cases. The questionnaire was conducted to understand how foreigners who are not native Chinese speakers are learning Chinese using the APPs and their expectations for Chinese learning apps. Based on the case analysis and the results of the questionnaire survey, a prototype of the Chinese creative learning APP was designed, which includes "Powerful Learning" and "Game Learning". Finally, 15 Chinese learners of different nationalities and 5 senior Chinese teachers at home and abroad were interviewed to understand their acceptance and suggestions for the researcher's design results. The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. The Chinese creative learning APP prototype interface style is simple and elegant with HSK grading being adopted for the content. The learning modes are diverse and novel. The game background combines with traditional Chinese classics. In addition to the suitability for foreign adults to learn Chinese, the APP can also support teaching in classrooms or after-school activities. 2. The learners and Chinese teachers give positive affirmation and high acceptance to the researchers’ prototype design results, and believe that it helps to improve learning motivation. The study concludes with a summary of the case analysis and the results of the questionnaire survey, and lists the interviewee's recommendations as a basis for follow-up research and design reference.
