To understand if it meets requirements of teachers’ need and provides sufficient scaffolding based on English teachers’ experience, this study used self-adapted checklists along with survey form and interview as research tools. The main findings are as follows: 1. About twenty percent of English teachers in Taipei City have used English Easy Go for remedial teaching. Choosing self-made teaching materials is the main reason why teachers don’t use it. Students’ need is the main criteria for English teachers when choosing remedial materials. 2. In terms of alphabet teaching, English Easy Go provides a large number of writing exercises and no exercise is provided for alphabet identification. 3. In terms of phonics, English Easy Go is based on analogic phonics and presents with word families. 4. Based on English teachers’ experience, most of the teachers don’t agree with the phonics design in English Easy Go. Teachers think that they won’t use English Easy Go for remedial program because it’s too difficult and incomplete. 5. Based on English teachers’ experience, English Easy Go doesn’t meet the requirements of remedial material because it provides insufficient scaffolding in terms of phonics. Base on the findings, this study provides some suggestions for editors of Engish remedial material, teachers, and further studies. CHEN, MAE-HAN 陳湄涵 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 118 zh-TW |
