The purpose of the study was to investigate the researcher’s progress of developing storytelling curriculum of ARCS model which intergrated into electronic picture books and the pupils’change in oral expression ability during the teaching process. This research was conducted in a selected municipal primary school in Keelung. Twelve second grade students participated in this research. The period of the experimental curriculum was nine-weeks, three classes a week. It was a total of twenty-seven classes. Before and after tests were used with self-compiled “oral expression ability evaluation chart” in comparison with Wilcoxon signed-ranks test to determine if significant level has been reached.Furthermore, data were collected and analyzed through the class observation, pupils’ learning sheets, feedback paper, and discussion records with collaborative teachers. The results were as follows: 1. The storytelling teaching strategies by using electronic picture books with ARCS model, it could not only help the researcher to design a students-centered but also enriched storytelling curriculum. 2. The storytelling curriculum of intergrating ARCS model into electronic picture books could significantly enhance the second graders’ oral expression ability in three aspects, which were “expression of speech” ,” expression of content” and “expression of manner”. 3. The researcher could acquire professional development through the process of action research. Finally, according to the results of this research, suggestions will be served as a reference for the elementary school teachers who would like to devote themselves to promote the oral expression ability of the pupils.
