Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 心理與諮商學系碩士班 === 106 === This thesis aims to study the possible application of skin conductance synchrony between spouses during couple therapy processes. A couple was invited to attend the therapy for six sessions, with the entire processes filmed. During the therapy sessions, the couple was connected to the biofeedback device, and their data on skin conductance were collected. The data were quantified to measure when their skin conductance was in the state of synchrony, and all motions at those moments, including facial expressions, gestures, and conversations of the couple and the therapist were then further analyzed by reviewing the verbatim transcript of the videos. According to the first stage of the analysis, the skin conductance synchrony happened at these following moments: 1) Authentic communication, 2) Co-constructed experiences, 3) Empathized expressions, 4) Concurrent responses to environmental stimulations. Furthermore, the second stage of analysis indicated that the skin conductance synchrony reached a relatively more intensive level while the couple were more engaged into therapy as sharing their feelings. Based on the two stages of analyses, it appeared that when the couple reached a high level of skin conductance synchrony, they seemed to be in a state of high-intensity relational dynamics, and they were more connected to each other in terms of perception, understanding, and emotion.
