Ports do not only offer the traditional functions like export/import goods, cargo handling, storage…etc. A modern port should also offer value-added services such as goods processing, assembly, and packaging to sustain the port’s long-term development economically. With the evolution of ports functions over time, most traditional ports are nowadays transforming themselves into valued-added logistics centers which drives the authors to investigate the key successful factors to be included in port value-added services in Taipei port. Reviewing and analyzing previous literatures, this study has aggregated the possible value-added factors to be included in the AHP questionnaire to be responded by stakeholders of Taipei Port. The responded questionnaires are then analyzed by the Analytic Hierarchy Process technique (AHP) to find out the degree of importance of the key successful factors of port value-added services in Taipei port. Seventeen possible key successful factors are grouped into two dimensions and four sub-dimensions. In addition to, this study also collects the experts’ opinions about the Taipei port’s performance on these key successful factors. An IPA figure is exhibited and find there isn’t any factor located in the ‘Concentrate Here Quadrant’ which implies that Taipei port does perform well in terms of value added services thus far. However eight of the seventeen factors are located in the ‘Keep up the Good Work’ quadrant which requires the port keep investing in these factors to maintain its competitiveness. The port and maritime bureau could use the research findings to enhance and strengthen the competitiveness and quality of value-added services for the Taipei port.
