Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 航運管理學系 === 106 === Taiwan and Mainland China signed an agreement to operate on the routes of cross-strait direct flights in 2008. At that moment, the commercial use of business aviation was allowed to start the operation in Taiwan. Meanwhile, there were many business travellers and employers having business activities in cross strait market; the scheduled flight could not meet the business demand need anymore. The benefits of business aviation such as: high privacy, high efficiency and high flexibility are cited as being the most important factors. Therefore, it is a valuable issue to explore the employers’ preference to provide the higher management to take the business charter. The questionnaire includes four major parts. Firstly, we apply the stated preference method by setting five scenarios in this study with the combination of various levels of fares, waiting time, exclusive clearance services and inflight communication equipment to find which attribute influence the employer’s preference. Secondly, we investigate how the characteristics of business charter affect the employer’s choice of business charter. Thirdly, we investigate how the purpose of using business charter influenced the employer’s support to the higher management’s use of business charter. Finally, we ask the business characteristics of the employer’s corporation. This research focuses at the level of vice president or above in the management of their companies. Our study had collected 24 samples and used the binary logit model to analyze how the attributes of business charter influenced the employer’s support to the higher management’s use of to take business charter. At the end we compare this study with the employee’s preference investigate in the literature. In this study, we found that fare is one of the factors for employers to support their executives to choose the business charter. In addition, the characteristics of the company, the specialty of business charter and the purposes of using business charter are three factors set as dummy variables in model specification. Estimation results indicate that factors such as client entertainment and business visit have positive effects on the preference to the company and employees for using the business charter. As a result, both the employers and employees have the similar preference of choosing the business charter. Furthermore, this study also calculates the price elasticity of choice probability. We used the number of passengers to set the three scenarios (6, 10 and 14 passengers). We find when the accompanying persons are 6, it has the highest price elasticity. On the other hand the lowest would be 14. This information is helpful for business aviation companies when making market strategies in the future.
