Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 航運管理學系 === 106 === The rapid rise of optoelectronics in the twentieth century is an interdisciplinary field combining optics, electronics, materials science and mechanics. After optoelectronics industry exceeded its output value of 100 billion for the first time in 1996, it was listed as one of the important development projects for Taiwan government. The popularity and future development of the industry in the field of opto-electronics are on the rise. In short, optoelectronics is a science that integrates optics and electronics. It uses light to convert electrical signals into optical signals. It is widely used in various fields, and even uses photons excited by electrons to transfer electrons. Different materials stimulate different wavelengths, and then show a different light. In fact, many characteristics of light are superior to electricity, for example, stable transmission, long transmission distance, high speed and less interference by noise, etc. However, human understanding of light is less in comparison to electricity, so the photoelectric is a field which gains lots of potential. This study uses data envelopment analysis method to evaluate Taiwan's 20 optoelectronics Industry operators. These companies are regarded as as the DMUs to be evaluated. The financial reports or annual reports published by the appraised units are the main sources of data. Total assets, cost of goods sold, and operating expense are input variables, and operating revenue and operating income are output variables. The CCR and BCC models of data envelopment analysis are employed to investigate the operation performance in 2016. The results show that those who are efficient include Largan Precision Inc., Daxin Materials Inc., Giantplus Technology Inc., Gigastorage Inc., Innolux Corporation Inc., and AU Optronics Inc., totaled in six. Those who are inefficient include EverFocus Inc., Asia Optical Inc., Ability Enterprise Inc., Altek Inc., Everlight Electronics Inc., Tyntek Corporation Inc., Favite Inc., Ledtech Electronics Inc., Cosmo Electronics Corporation Inc., Bright LED Electronics Inc., Opto Tech Corporation Inc., Aver Inc., Epileds Inc., and Optimax Technology Corporation Inc., totaled in fourteen. From the data, we can know that there are eight companies under the increasing returns to scale (IRS). They are Opto Tech Corporation Inc., Ability Enterprise Inc., Tyntek Corporation Inc., Cosmo Electronics Corporation Inc., Bright LED Electronics Inc., Optimax Technology Corporation Inc., Altek Inc., and Ledtech Electronics Inc.. It shows that the sizes of these companies can be further expanded. There are twelve companies under the constant returns to scale (CRS), which implies that they are in the optimal production scale. These companies include the Everlight Electronics Inc., Gigastorage Inc., AU Optronics Inc., Largan Precision Inc., Asia Optical Inc., Innolux Corporation Inc., Favite Inc., Aver Inc., Epileds Inc., Daxin Materials Inc., EverFocus Inc., and Giantplus Technology Inc..
